Online Dating: Russian Women Sites Some Quick Do’s And Dont’s

By Tim Zelmer

The market for men seeking to date, form relationships and even marry Russian women (and women from the various Republics inside the former USSR) has never been larger, and seems to be growing every day. A quick search of the subject on Google or some other search engine will get you literally thousands of hits and offer you literally hundreds of choices as far as what services to use. However, as all too many men have found in the last few years, there are also a lot of scams and con games out there. And the tragic part about it is most of the men who have been scammed in the past could have avoided it by taking a few simple, common sense precautions.

The fact that there are people out there looking to take advantage of men who are in the Russian women relationship/marriage market is not surprising. Finding someone to share your life with tends to be a very difficult and very emotional process under any circumstances – and people tend to be at their most vulnerable when it comes to matters of the heart. Still, even in matters of the heart, it is also vitally important that people use their heads as well. Here are a few quick, simple, common sense tips to help you avoid the scam artists and conmen (and women) and aid you in your search for the perfect match.

–START WITH YOUR OWN VIRUS PROTECTION PROGRAM – The first step towards finding a legitimate online agency to do business with starts before you even visit any individual websites. It starts with the anti-virus/internet security software that you already have installed on your own computer (and if you don’t have this kind of protection on your computer, you are going to want it get it ASAP). Whether you are using Microsoft, McAfee, Norton, Kaspersky or almost any other major brand, your program will have an internet security feature that will warn you about potential dangers (viruses, worms, spyware, etc.) that are known to be associated with the sites you are considering looking into. Pay attention to these warnings! If a site is red flagged or even question marked by your security software, you will probably want to leave it alone.

–NUDITY – While many legitimate Russian relationship/marriage websites feature pictures of their female clients (and yes, remember that the legitimate agencies are working for the women too!) elegantly or even provocatively dressed, few if any legitimate agencies show any nudity anywhere on their site. If you are at a site featuring naked women, the chances are that you are not at an agency, but rather a porn site. If porn is your thing, have fun! But if you are looking for an actual long term relationship, it is probably time to move on.

–INFORMATION, RESOURCES AND FAQ’s – Just like any other kind of business, the owners of legitimate agencies specializing in Russian women understand that not only do they have a lot of competition out there, but also that an informed consumer is usually the best customer. Once you have found a service’s website that looks interesting to you, make certain that you dig a little deeper into that site before you spend any of your money there. The best place to start is with their FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section (and if the site you are at doesn’t have an FAQ section, you might want to look elsewhere). The FAQ section should outline, in clear, simple to understand language, exactly what the site can and can’t do for you. It should also tell you right up front what the various services they offer are, what they cost, how they charge, and what you can reasonably expect. For example, beware of any site that guarantees you that the first woman you meet will be the woman for you. Relationships don’t work that way in real life, and they don’t work that way on the internet either. If after reading through the FAQ you are still interested, surf around the site a little and see what resources they offer. Are there easy to use instructions available? Guarantees? Articles and tips on how to start and continue the relationship process? All of these things are a big plus to the consumer. What you are really looking for, however, is what isn’t there. If, after spending some time on the site you get the feeling that the agency’s owners are being unclear about what they charge, or what services they offer or that they are trying to hide something, it might be time to take your search elsewhere.

–VERIFICATION – This is perhaps the most challenging – and most important – aspect involved in finding the right agency for you: making certain that the women you are meeting are actually who they say they are, and are actually the women in their pictures and videos. By some estimates, fully 80% of the scams associated with all online dating revolve around the fact that someone is not who they claim to be or, in some cases, doesn’t even exist at all. Legitimate services will have some kind of verification process for the women they are representing – the most effective of which, of course, is actually having a representative of their agency physically meet the women in question to verify their identity. For this reason, it is important that any agency you do business with has offices or partners in the countries that the women come from. Still, and unfortunately, even this cannot provide a consumer with a 100% guarantee and so it is necessary that any service you do business with is able to provide you with a way to prove to yourself that the women you are meeting are the women they claim to be. The easiest and most effective way to do this is via a real time video dating option. With the advances in technology in recent years, most legitimate agencies specializing in relationship/marriage with Russian women will offer some kind of real time video option, providing the customer with an extra level of protection and security. If the agency you are considering using does not offer this option as part of their list of services, you need to ask yourself why they don’t, and consider moving on in your search.

Finding the perfect match – whether online or at the local bar – requires work, commitment and time. In the world of Russian relationship/marriage agencies, it also requires caution and common sense. Everyone’s perfect match is out there somewhere, but there are also a lot of sharks circling in those particular waters. By taking a little extra time and making certain that the agency you choose can provide you with the tools you need to make an informed decision you can save yourself time, money, heartache – and move many steps closer to finding that special person to share your life with.

London, England — As Paralympians ready for the Games which are set to open later this week, they have access to a world class fitness center inside the Paralympic Village which is designed to maximise their pre-Game preparations.

State of the health care system in Sierra Leone critical

Saturday, December 5, 2009

According to Médecins Sans Frontières the health care system in Sierra Leone causes loss of life because the poor cannot afford medical treatment. The maternal death rate and the child mortality rate in Sierra Leone are the highest in the world.Experiences of Médecins Sans Frontières had shown that free care or low fees lead to a dramatic increase in the number of patients.Nonetheless the national health system of Sierra Leone demands payment for all treatment with simple consultations costing as much as 25 days of income.According to Action Against Hunger the number of children with acute malnutrition has reached almost twice the level of the WHO‘s emergency threshold of 2% in the Moyamba district of Sierra Leone.

The Los Angeles Times writes that Sierra Leone, in spite of decades of foreign aid, has not yet increased the standard of living of its people considerably and 60% of the public spending of Sierra Leone come from other governments and nonprofit organizations.Since 2002 the country received $1 billion in aid but the infant mortality rate is almost the highest in the world, lower than Angola but higher than Afghanistan. The newspaper further reports that the United Nations state that 1 in 8 Sierra Leonean women die giving birth, as compared to 1 in 4,800 in the United States and that life expectancy in Sierra Leone is merely 41 years while in Bangladesh life expectancy reaches 60 years.

The government of Sierra Leone had expressed its intend to abolish user fees for women and children with a new plan for a fairer health care system that was to be revealed on the Sierra Leone Investment and Donor Conference, which was held in London on November 18 and 19.

“The Sierra Leone government has publicly stated its commitment to abolish user fees, and the UK government and other donors have promised to help,” said Seco Gerard, advisor at Médecins Sans Frontières’s analysis and advocacy unit. “What is crucial now is that Sierra Leone actually receives the necessary funding and technical assistance to realise this objective. It is time that words are being followed up by concrete action. If not, people who could otherwise be saved will continue to die needlessly every day.”

The Telegraph reports that president Bai Koroma was also hoping to secure a significant increase in aid donations with his new health plan. While Germany declined to support president Bai Koroma’s “Agenda for Change” and urged to give more consideration to women’s welfare the country received support from the European Union, DFID, UNIPSIL, World Bank, IFAD and the African Development Bank. From the pledges of $850 million the government of Sierra Leone was hoping for only about $300 millions could be secured, with attached conditionalities concerning the use of funding.

In a presentation at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development in Freetown the Unicef representative for Sierra Leone, Mr. Mahimbo Mdoe, expressed gratitude about a pledge of about $1.3 million conveyed by the Ambassador of Japan to Sierra Leone, His Excellency Mr. Keiichi Katakami, and about earlier donations to UNICEF-Sierra Leone in the past years, amounting to over $20 million. The intended application of the funding is the goal to half child and maternal mortality by 2010, to introduce a social health insurance scheme, to improve equipment and to train health professionals.

Ruling forbids RadioShack brand in Canada

Friday, March 25, 2005

A U.S. District Court in Tarrant County, Texas, issued a summary judgment Thursday against Circuit City’s InterTAN Inc., requiring all 950 RadioShack stores in Canada to stop using the RadioShack brand in store signs, packaging, products and advertising after June 30.

RadioShack’s Canadian operations were spun off in 1986 to a new corporation, InterTAN Canada, which was purchased in 2004 by RadioShack’s major U.S. competitor, Circuit City. Shortly thereafter, RadioShack sued InterTAN, alleging it had violated the terms of their licensing agreement and seeking the right to terminate the contract early.

In a statement released following the judge’s ruling, RadioShack’s general counsel, Mark Hill, claimed: “The most important thing to us was to protect our brand position in Canada.”

Circuit City chairman and chief executive officer, W. Alan McCollough responded today in a press release seeking an appeal: “We respectfully believe the court has erred in the partial ruling entered yesterday and we will use every means of relief possible to exercise our rights under the agreements, including all appeal rights. The Company believes the positions taken by InterTAN are correct and believe InterTAN will ultimately prevail in the legal proceedings.”

Introduction To Patient Experience Management

A. Understanding the importance of the customer in modern healthcare

B. Financial implications of poor Patient Experience

C. What matters to patients, relatives, carers and other service users?

D. Experience as a core driver of patient s choice

Introduction to Patient Experience Management

Chapter II

Chapter – II

A. Environment

Hospitals are considered very stressful place and to be true people do not like visiting hospitals until it is unavoidable. Discomfort, pain, medicines and nauseating feelings are the age old synonymous for the term Hospital . Whenever hospitals are mentioned an unpleasant feeling grips our mind. Healthcare centers should respond to this by enhancing their healthcare milieu and creating a feel good environment for the customers during their stay. Few things that are mandatory in order to give a friendly environment to the patients whilst they stay include the following

Facilities

Healthcare facilities range from a relatively simple medical clinic to a large complex and expensive medical techniques; from large general and specialist centers to small outpatient clinic. Every healthcare center should comprise of wide range of service and functional units like

– Medical laboratories/diagnostic centers

– Research and teaching facilities

– Imaging rooms

– Emergency rooms

– Operation theaters

– Blood banks

– Sample collection services

– Hospitality service rooms such as food and housekeeping services

– In-patient wards and beds

– Out-patient related services

– Ambulance services

– Administrative functions

– Mortuary

– Maintaining proper sanitation

– Using proper disinfectant and sterilization techniques

– Provisions for potable wate

– Infection control plans

– Very importantly, as healthcare centers generate maximum amount of waste everyday it is mandatory to have a proper wastage disposal system

A healthcare center should have all the basic required facilities so that the patient need not go around in search of every single requirement. Apart from these, hospitals should also include advanced mechanical, electrical and telecommunication systems. The phrase First impression is the best impression suites healthcare centers also as there is never a second chance to make a good impression. Changes in physical environment should mainly focus on comfort, privacy, efficiency, personal attention, and a sense of serenity.

Size

Among the various priority settings in building a healthcare center, decisions on size and location of the healthcare center tops the list. The size of a hospital is not determined by the area it is spread on but size refers to the number of beds the hospitals have, to accommodate patients. A hospital can have anywhere from 10 to 20 beds in smaller organization to 1000 beds in large organizations. Long since there is a never-ending debate about the efficiency of the healthcare management in small and large hospitals. Initial research focusing on the relation between size and efficiency of a healthcare center were inconclusive but later in 2000 it was shown that the size of a hospital has possible effect on the economic gain of a healthcare center. Patients choose large size healthcare centers as they provide more services than hospitals with smaller size.

Location

Apart from considering the clinical and non-clinical experience while choosing a healthcare center, patients also consider the location of the hospital. Choosing a hospital that is far away might require transportation services. Along with the hospital expenses the patient should also bear the transportation expenses. Therefore patients consider location as an extremely important aspect while choosing a healthcare center. It should be easy for the patient to get to the hospital for normal routine check-ups and also for emergency services. It should also be easy for the family members to visit the patient often. Despite being in a perfect accessible location, the management should also take care that the hospital environment is serene and calm, little away from the demanding traffic and pollution.

Parking lot

Hospitals are the most complex type of building that requires a perfect planning. Every day thousands of people might visit a hospital and the number of automobiles is also increasing exponentially. It is the duty of the healthcare center to provide parking facility. Designing a parking lot that occupies maximum vehicles and house them in close proximity is a great challenge for the designers.

The design of a parking lot in a hospital requires an integrated effort of professionals belonging to automobile, engineering and traffic control departments to create an appropriate design. Many healthcare organizations consider the space allotted for parking is waste and allot only minimum space without considering the convenience of the customers. Parking lots should not be far from the main block of the hospital, if its far then the hospital management should provide transportation inside the hospital campus for the patients. While designing a parking lot in a healthcare center few basic criteria that should be followed are

– The height, size, turning radius of automobiles (current, past and future vehicles) should be considered

– The flow of traffic in the entry and exit should be considered

– The length of opening and placement of the entry booths as well as the quantity of entrance and exit should be well planned

– Appropriate work place for staffs

– The design should facilitate further expansion and up-gradation

– Proper ventilation

– Drain and floor slope is important as water can stagnate and create long-term maintenance problem

– Back-up power system

– Safety and security should be the first priority of the plan

– Clear, simple, direct sign messages should be placed where drivers can read in a timely fashion

Decors

People who are sick need to get a good cheerful atmosphere; they should not feel that they are trapped with their pain in a room. Locking up sick people in a boring white walled room will make them even sicker and remind them every second about their sickness. The hospital management can take steps to make the stay more comfortable and cheerful. Carefully chosen decors, art-work, lightening, carpets and wall coverings that go well with a hospital environment must be placed in each room, corridors, reception, waiting halls, and also in testing rooms and laboratories to make people feel good and positive. It also helps to create a relaxing, supportive and inviting atmosphere.

As healthcare center may encounter patients of all ages and from various backgrounds with different ailments, opting for generalized decors that pleases everyone will be a better choice. Rather than the regular dingy white bed-spread the hospital management can use colorful bed-spreads and throw blankets to improve the look and also to create a positive cheerful atmosphere. Allowing patients to decorate their room with their paintings, family photo or other art-work that they love can also help to have a positive impact on their health condition and make them feel they are in the safest place with people around them to help them round the clock.

Furniture

The term hospital usually brings an unpleasant scene of blank walls, poor infrastructure and obviously not the place that people would like to visit. But with such advance in medical field and competitive market where customer experience is given major importance the healthcare managements are striving hard to provide world class services. And the basic among all other infrastructure is comfortable furniture. A fully furnished hospital with all required furniture facilitates relief and comfort to the patients.

The term Hospital furniture is an umbrella term that describes all type of furniture used to provide a feel of comfort to the ailing patients. Hospital furniture includes

– Bed and accessories

– Ward furniture

– Operation table

– Stools

– Tables

– Bed-side lockers

– Racks

– Instrument trolley

– Wheel chai

– Over-bed table

– Foot step

– Ward screen

– Baby cradle

– Bed-side wash basin stand

– Saline stand

– Waiting room furniture

– Patient chai

– Therapeutic seating

– Children pediatric furniture

– Stretche

– Office table, cupboards, book case

– Laboratory furniture and many more

The rest room provided to family members of the patient should also be fully furnished in order make their stay comfortable. The furniture requirements for healthcare center vary in form, cost and function. Choosing appropriate furniture is another very important criterion. The furniture in healthcare organization should meet the requirement of today s health care demands. It should cater the need of patients and visitors. Secondly, choosing the right type of furniture and selecting only the required furniture will allow planners to manage placing them neatly within the given space. Well placed chairs, tables and sofas gives the most versatile and personal touch and for sure is a welcome treat for patients and visitors. Neatly arranged furniture can give a feel of home and make the patient feel even more comfortable. Durable furniture helps to save hospital money by reducing wear and tear cost.

Furniture designed for healthcare centers are found to have characteristic use and purpose among other designing component. Designing furniture for healthcare need requires appreciating and understanding the demand in healthcare market.

Equipment planning

Though listed last, the very important and unavoidable thing required for a hospital, either small or large, to function and serve people is medical equipment planning. No other building type requires such complicated designing and planning. Planning should be a blend of traditional processes, unparallel vision and unique resources. Equipment planning services should provide

– Full scientific objectivity

– Complete project management skill

– Equipment procurement and management support

– Till date information and software

For outstanding equipment planning an excellent knowledge about all medical devices is required. The healthcare organization should also have enough data about emerging technologies, product specifications, clinical guidelines, user-experience, hazards, standards and regulations, in order to have a an edge of what is needed from both technological and clinical point of view.

Few types of equipment that a hospital should have are listed below

– Anesthesia equipment/machine

– Anesthesia vaporize

– Portable anesthesia machine

– Angiograph apparatus and equipment

– Face mask

– Blood and vascular pressure measurement

– Cardiovascular instrument

– Autoclave

– Centrifuge

– Oxygen cylinde

– Oxygen flow-mete

– Oxygen humidifie

– Artificial resuscitators

– Curette

– Dilato

– Dissection apparatus

– General surgical instruments

– Electrosurgical apparatus

– Electrosurgical generato

– Suction apparatus

– Inhale

– Plastic surgical instruments

– Defibrillators

– Respiratory care apparatus

– Resuscitators

– Vascular instruments

– Surgical hook, punch, marker and loupes

– Water bath

– Vacuum extractor set and many more

CanadaVOTES: Libertarian John Kittridge in St. Paul’s

Monday, October 13, 2008

In an attempt to speak with as many candidates as possible during the 2008 Canadian federal election, Wikinews has talked via email with John Kittredge. John is a candidate in Toronto, Ontario’s St. Paul riding, running under the Libertarian Party banner. Libertarians are a minor, registered political party; they are looking to earn their first ever seat in the House of Commons.

Incumbent Carolyn Bennett of the Liberals is running against Libertarian Kittridge, Conservative Heather Jewell, New Democrat Anita Agrawal, and Justin Erdman, a Green. Bennett was the Minister of Health under previous Prime Minister Paul Martin’s Liberal government. Since it was created in 1935, the riding has been batted about between the Liberals and the now defunct Progessive Conservative party.

The following is an interview with Mr. Kittridge, conducted via email. The interview has had very limited editing, to eliminate in-text mentions of website addresses, but is otherwise left exactly as sent to Wikinews.
